ABOUT ME

I am first and foremost an artist. I’ve been drawing since I can remember. My first job was as a caricature artist at Opryland USA in Nashville, TN. where I grew up. I was also a musician, and for a brief stint, I was pursuing a career in Music Education. That wasn’t my path, but I am deeply attuned to the harmonics of places, people, patterns and systems. And it is harmonic restoration that I seek to bring to the land, and while doing so, restore it to me. So it’s not just aesthetics that drive me, but restoring the energetic geometries through my work with sacred spaces and people. My career began in graphic design in the 1990s. I worked my way up the corporate ladder, self taught, with a proclivity for technology. I am a renaissance soloprenuer; skilled in creative writing / scriptwriting, graphic & web design, marketing and filmmaking… serving clients in the financial industry. In addition, I am a spiritual seeker with several coaching certifications, and am well versed in self-knowing systems like The Gene Keys and The Sophia Code.

In 2019 I began to slow down from a fast paced schedule, and since then, in successive stages, I’ve deepened my commitment to finding the right balance between work, life, health and creation. I find myself reaching constantly beyond the restraints of dying systems for new solutions for living, and now for financing my dreams. Bringing my whole self into harmony is my top focus. And I believe from this comes my most radiant self… which feeds my capacity to serve others from overflow, not from fear, lack or performance. I believe this approach can be part of a new blueprint for living, that then energetically encodes the collective field. And just as, when the 4 minute mile was broken, the barrier of perception was gone, and a new reality rippled out to now achieve what was once thought impossible. And so it is with humanity seeking now to return to harmony with nature.

A BUSINESS PLAN FOCUSED ON STEWARDSHIP

The land I seek isn’t just about me or my creative expression, but I seek to beautify it in ways that are sustainable, intelligent, considerate, and serving the land and the animals of that land by giving back to them. I won’t be just planting food for myself or to sell, but want to establish a perennial food forest that regenerates itself year after year… with established crops for local animals and then some for me to harvest personally. I want to plant native flowers, fruit trees and brush that supports the landscape and most of all pollinators. I want to create a sanctuary for birds, with future potential for bee keeping. I want to upgrade the house, the buildings and areas of the property to create a truly magical space for hosting small retreats that connect people back to the land. Function, beauty and purpose; meeting… with plans for a greenhouse, a pond, art studio space, and AUDs for guests. Most of all – and this should go without saying… my approach will be to use natural methods and organic products that are free from the poisons of the industrial chemical complex so readily pushed in agricultural development.

My vision is not capitalistic, but regenerative… although I do intend to grow one or two specialty crops, like saffron, as well as hosting retreats that can help generate funds for upkeep. My current freelance business is well established, and my schedule, although minimum, provides me with a stable consistent monthly income, working with a client I have served since the early 2000s. I have minimal debt (car) with perfect payment history. My student loans fell behind and that has affected my credit rating on paper. But I am not one to take out unnecessary loans, even to build credit, which I consider to be a more responsible approach. People are more than the sum of their credit scores… and land ownership should not be a commodity that weeds out those without greater wealth. Our current system rewards those with means and connections, where the laws are complex, gatekeeping restricts knowledge, and large amounts of debt are rewarded. The rich often leverage bankruptcy as a business strategy; yet when the poor fall behind, it’s punished as moral failure. I seek to be as responsible as I can, to learn from my mistakes, and I’m willing to learn more in order to steward more. But largely, I’ve chosen not to live my life to fit into the current capitalistic and limiting financial system as a moral stance, not from ignorance. I’m reaching for something new. I dream of a new future that helps evolve a broken system, one that honors people… not based on their net worth, but lifts all into stewardship and sovereignty. And one that treats the planet as our greater body to care for, heal and nurture, rather than dominate and extract from.

INVESTING IN A DIFFERENT FUTURE

There’s a higher blueprint for business waiting to express a new octave… one driven by people and balance with nature over profit. As long as we continue using money, it will always be necessary to earn it. But concepts like value, return on investment, and growth look very different when people and ecosystems thriving is the highest mark of success. When you have money and wish to use it to fund legacy, the old playbook of expansion, domination, extraction, and profits doesn’t fit. Without the divine feminine principle of giving being a primary principle for business… the world reels and burns in the grip of humanity’s spiritual immaturity. This is where you come in. You are interested in supporting legacy projects through PRI investments, grants, low-interest mission loans, and/or investments that seek impact that goes beyond the financial statement and into the world of stewardship and regeneration – of land and people. Just like finding the right land and house is my starting point… I am seeking to partner with someone whose legacy is as much in the unseen as the seen. Foundations, philanthropists, and/or impact-investment organizations who seek to help launch a small regenerative hobby farm, pollinator habitat, and specialty crops in the hands of a woman-led rural business… I am here. It would be a joy to connect.  

As I actively search for the right property, I am holding two visions in tandem. One would require a modest investment to launch… the other is a higher value property which already has some or many of the components of my vision started or already developed. I am open to both scenarios, and the amount available will determine my direction. I have currently identified a property in Southern Oregon, not far from the coast, that is just past my own personal budget. And, I’ve identified a larger, more developed property in Northern California, close to the coast, that is a bigger investment. In addition, I have many other potentials and contingency properties… but two remain my favorites. I am seeking support with the down payment as well as a low to no interest loan that fits my current budget… or best-case scenario, complete funding. Aside from the purchase, both properties need specific updates and investment funds to achieve the vision for the sanctuary… for which I could potentially seek a different investment source to complete.

On paper, I don’t look like a credit worthy investment. But my history, low debt and consistent payment of my bills tells a different story. I’m not looking for traditional financing or venture capitalist who is investing for a financial reward… because my vision is to attract resources for stewardship, not capital gain. I’m looking to partner with philanthropists and visionaries who have the capital and who want to give it to people and projects they deem highly valuable to fulfilling their legacy. HEALING & GATHERING

Although I am a Certified Sophia Circle Leader, and I work with many coaching modalities and sacred texts, the focus of my retreats is mainly non-religious, with a focus on mental and emotional health, as well as self awareness and connection to the Earth to facilitate healing. In later phases of my project, once I build / install some AUDs on the property, I will be hosting gatherings specifically for other Sophia Circle Leaders in addition to retreats open to the general public. 

Gatherings and circles are primarily women-focused… facilitating women’s group connection, holistic wellness, mindfulness, holding space for trauma release, and deep connection to nature. I am very intrigued with equine therapy. One of the properties already has a horse barn. Future projects may include either partnering with an existing equine therapy center, or being trained in equine therapy personally. 

I also hold a much larger vision, which would be perhaps a decade or more down the road, which would involve purchasing hundreds of acres and partnering with The Sophia Code Foundation to provide housing, therapy / healing services and education for female victims of sex trafficking. 

COMMUNITY EVENTS

In addition to any food growing and food forest initiatives, one of my focuses would be on providing excess fruit and vegetables to local food banks and families who are food-insecure. I would like to partner with other local business owners and farm educators in not only teaching locals (and online through the use of social media) the best and most effective sustainable practices and support for growing some of their own food. Hosting harvest swap events, seed sharing events, and potentially educational garden tours for local school children. 

Watershed health and learning about passive irrigation and water storage methods are also passion topics, and I hope to learn from others as well as increase local civic and governmental awareness around food security and water / wildlife conservation. Supporting pollinators is a top goal, and I will begin right away reducing the majority of grasses in order to plant native, local herbs and plants that support pollinators and birds. 

I feel strongly that indigenous wisdom is the key for these types of initiatives, and my goal is to partner with wisdom-keepers and indigenous organizations to learn and eventually educate others on ways to come into greater harmony with Mother Earth.

FOUNDATION & SUSTAINABILITY

Unlike most start up hobby farms, I have a base income already to support and help sustain this project long term. My marketing and videography business provides existing cash flow while the farm grows in profitability. My vision and perhaps idealistic framework for this project aren’t about abandoning a business model of profit… but rather, I simply seek to balance profit goals with service goals. And this is where I feel our capitalist model for success misses the mark… by labeling money as the highest marker for success, without considering environmental impact, future generation impact, sustainability impact, and other very important metrics.

With a little help – defined as down payment assistance, access to startup capital through low interest loans, and business mentorship to potentially develop an LLC and or nonprofit trust – I already have a solid financial foundation to support my vision. And for those philanthropists and investors who wish to support habitat restoration, regenerative holistic agriculture, forest food cultivation, passive irrigation, conservation and food solvency education… as well as those who are passionate about healing and wellness, then we are absolutely aligned in our devotions. Profits are necessary to sustain the project long term, but the driving force is service to the land and to the hearts of people. Fostering community, empowering personal sovereignty, eliminating poverty, and teaching people how to grow their own food in their own backyards.

My current annual income is modest, but solid, at $75,600. I work a very reduced schedule currently, and could increase that should I need or want to. But I want to be investing that extra time into my homestead and growing initiatives. My only debt is my car payment and student loan. My credit score dropped to 520 due to late student loan payments; however my rent, utilities, auto loans all have pristine payment history. I feel I could comfortably afford $2500 / month for mortgage, not including utilities. 

MYRTLE POINT – The numbers all depend on the down payment amount and the interest on the loan. A down payment assistance of $53,000 at a 7% interest rate would put me in my range. With a low interest mortgage of let’s say 3%, I would only need the 10% down payment ($35K). Any additional funds given above this would be 100% invested back into the property and the land, empowering me to complete much needed updates to the house (which may need a new roof, updates to the exterior for moisture control, and interior updates)… as well as the shop conversion, and long term projects like the AUD additions. 

WHITETHORN – Assuming a negotiated price of $575K, at a 7% interest rate I would need a down payment assistance of 30% ($173K). At an interest rate of 3%, I would only need a 10% down payment ($57K) to make this property work within my budget. The interest makes or breaks my prospects. The perfect support for me would be a person or organization that could offer a low to no interest loan for the entire project and/or down payment assistance. DPA can potentially be from a separate funding source. The Whitethorn property is most closely aligned with my long term vision; but the Myrtle Point property is an amazing 2nd option. Because of my health, requiring a milder climate, it’s been a challenge to find properties that will work for me. Most in the $350K or under require significant updates and may not pass inspection. However, I am searching for other potentials should neither of these work out.

FUTURE POTENTIAL INCOME

I very much see my current base income as a starting point. Because of my storytelling, marketing and videography experience, I have a strong potential to leverage social platforms, such as YouTube, to share my journey, build a following, and put out weekly content that will eventually bring in more income and potential sponsorships. This could fund repairs and later phases of my vision for either property. Aside from these skills, I also excel at new technology adaptations, pattern recognition, and documenting and refining new processes. I have the potential to cultivate a library of resources and best practices, as well as potentially unify and lead online social groups with similar interests. The premise wouldn’t be to charge for every little thing, but to cultivate an online community sanctuary and resource center with a very low monthly contribution for participation. This could potentially connect funders with visionaries, with like objectives and passion projects. Of course this second aspect would be down the road once I was to the point of hiring people to help expand my business (potential nonprofit organization). 

I think the biggest block in ordinary people beginning to grow in their own backyards is not just information, but confidence. Many people learn through doing. Starting at the local level, setting up workshops that assist the poor and elderly (who are physically able) in step by step processes for what to buy, how to get started, how to grow via companion planting and not using synthetic insect control and fertilizers. Returning to the indigenous wisdoms that exist, so that local communities can become food sovereign and secure. From there, that process documented could potentially be sold to local governments all over our nation to use as a blueprint for their local communities. Empowering the homeless by offering communal housing for their volunteer work in community gardens… the sky is the limit. 

BUSINESS MENTORSHIP

Maybe your contribution isn’t financial support but financial mentorship. Vision isn’t enough; neither is talent or skills. I know what my strengths and weaknesses are… and I’m smart enough to know that I need the right aligned mentorship to be able to meet and exceed my goals and vision. Having someone that I could talk with about all my goals and visions would be a game-changer for me. Knowing what is right for me, an LLC and trust or a nonprofit organization… what those requirements are, etc. I have the capacity to steward my vision, with the right support…. and I want to. I want to move beyond vision and actually create what feels aligned with my soul’s purpose. I know that I have mindsets and prejudices that might be holding me back. I know that I may have aversions to power and money because I’ve witnessed so much abuse of it. Yet I also know that if I am not willing to grow and take up my own power, that my dreams will remain ethereal. 

I have sought financial literacy; I have studied Rich Dad, Poor Dad, taken courses from T. Harv Ecker, and done the MML thing a few different times in my journey. I even became licensed to sell financial insurance products in California several years ago, but never tried to sell, because that wasn’t my path. Because of my nature (as an Aquarius sun) to pursue collective good and to be philanthropic, I have often felt at odds with capitalism. But in this struggle, I also recognize that in order to birth the new, a bridge must be made from the old. Investing, stocks, and other similar topics have been points of contention for me. But I have a new attitude about it. If I feel supported in this area by someone who has first hand knowledge, then I am ready to strengthen myself in this area of self development.
